Artist Development
Spaces to Play, Make, Collaborate
At the heart of The Makers Theatre is a desire to keep making and to create space for others to do the same. We believe that creative practice doesn’t always need a product; sometimes, it just needs a room, a prompt, and permission to begin.
This strand of our work offers low-pressure opportunities for artists at any stage to reconnect with process. From one-off workshops to informal residencies and in-house R&D, we focus on the value of experimentation, shared exploration, and making for its own sake.

Academic Partnerships
Practice-Led Learning & Facilitation
We collaborate with universities, colleges, schools, and training institutions to deliver tailored ensemble-led workshops and training. Rooted in our professional devising practice, our work focuses on creativity, collaboration, and process - offering students practical insight into contemporary performance-making.
We support departments looking to embed ensemble approaches into their curriculum or to introduce students to professional-level creative training. We work flexibly, whether stepping into an existing module or designing something completely new.
