NEXT SESSION:
SATURDAY 26TH OCTOBER 2024
VENUE: MOUNTVIEW | 11:00 - 19:00 | £60
EXPAND is a theatre making day focused on playful exploration and discovery. Using physical, devising and clowning methodologies we work through an action-packed session of movement and theatre making activities, workshopping material throughout, as we head towards developing a short sequence of new material at the end of the day.
"Supportive, collaborative, and light."
Aimed primarily towards early career and undergraduates we welcome anyone interested in finding or rediscovering a playful approach to making theatre and live performance. You might be an established performer, teacher, creative or practitioner. (Participants must be 18+).
Hosted at the fantastic facilities at Mountview in Peckham.
"The perfect inclusive space to flex your creative muscles."
In this workshop, participants will…
-
Partake in a range of games and exercises focused on playfulness and cultivating an ensemble, and a movement session centred around the relationship between physicality and play.
-
Engage with a series of devising tasks, both individually and with other participants, to generate material around a given stimulus.
-
Develop and experiment with material using skills explored earlier in the day, before collaborating with the ensemble to create a short devised piece, led by the creative team.
"A jumble of fun, sweat and creativity!"
